Bangladesh Government Information and Communication Technology Advisor Sajib Wazed Joy received the 'ICT for Development Award' on Monday. He has been honored with the award for his special contribution in leading the way of the digital world.

The information was conveyed through a press release from the Information and Communication Technology Department of the Ministry of Postal, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. State Minister for Information and Communications Technology Junaid Ahmed Palk congratulated Prime Minister Information and Communication Technology Advisor Sajib Wazed Joy on receiving the ICT for Development Award in the notice.

According to the declaration of Bangladesh Awami League president, leader Sheikh Hasina announced on December 12, that Bangladesh will be made a digital Bangladesh, the information and communication technology of the government is under the direct direction and supervision of the Honorable Prime Minister's Information and Communication Technology, to make Bangladesh as a fully digital Bangladesh. The World Organization of Governance and Competitiveness, Plan Triffinio, Global Fashion for Development and the School of Business at New Haven University in Connecticut, USA, jointly presented the award to Sajeeb Wazed Joy for helping Bangladesh's citizens through the adoption of the Digital Bangladesh Project. The prize will be awarded at a later time each year.

He received the award from the famous Hollywood actor Robert Davey at the grand event. A number of ministers of Bangladesh Government, including Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, were present on the occasion.
